Hite Health Solutions had its unofficial beginning in 2014 when our founder and CEO, Gwynne Hite, had an idea for a better feminine hygiene product, the Circular Tampon.*
Gwynne is a Nurse Practitioner with fifteen years of combined experience as a clinician and a Legal Nurse Consultant. Over the years Gwynne encountered countless patients who had modified off-the-shelf feminine hygiene products in attempts to improve the performance of available period products. Often these attempts failed and led the women to seek Gwynne’s medical assistance to extract these adulterated products.
Gwynne’s patients were not women who were thoughtless or impoverished and could not afford feminine hygiene products. Gwynne’s patients were women who were driven to action after frustrating years of products that leaked, dislodged, caused irritation and interfered with intercourse.
With direct clinical knowledge of conventional feminine hygiene products, Gwynne clearly understood the merits and shortcomings of each option. Convinced that there must be some way to leverage the strengths of period products while avoiding the corresponding weaknesses, Gwynne designed her Circular Tampon concept.
Realizing that her design could provide a novel solution for period protection to millions of women, Gwynne applied for and was granted a patent in 2019, and shortly thereafter Hite Health Solutions, Inc. was formed.
